I’ve always admired white sofas in gorgeous minimal spaces in magazine spreads. There’s something so ‘big time’ and bold about a white sofa, especially in a large space. Maybe it’s because a white sofa gives the illusion of being a little harder to maintain, which isn’t always the case. The right white sofa can actually be much more forgiving.
I love a nice white modern sofa. Couchoid, the aerodynamic sofa from Blu Dot is a fresh modern choice. It offers so much personality despite being so linear. I’m not a fluffy pouffy type and I don’t like having a dozen pillows. I like when the sofa is the star.
Couchoid is upholstered in a cow-friendly, flesh-free leather alternative with a chrome-plated base. Great white design – $1799.

Another great white space designed by our friends over at i29. A couple of months ago, we featured Panta Rhei College by this innovative Dutch Design and Architecture studio.
The concept of this new Amsterdam project was to keep things light and minimally designed – both have been perfectly achieved in this great white home. The space I admire the most is the open bedroom and bathroom area. The panorama of the overgrown plantwall which contrasts the minimalistic white bed and bath provides a freshly intense experience. Adding such an extravagant living wall in one space is impressive plus the plants add greenery and life to an otherwise almost all white design.
Adding a well needed mirror behind the bathroom sink creates a visually appealing effect adjacent the plantwall. The overall space is very well thought out and flows wonderfully.
Many thanks to Jeroen from i29 for sending this one over.
Check out many more projects by i29.

The CCO1 house is quite compact and utilizes space and form masterfully! Yes, the exterior is black and the interior is ‘Oh-So’ refreshingly White! The contrast is bold and evokes such interesting feelings. The CCO1 modern house features really impressive architectural and white design qualities that harmonize with the land.
LEVENBETTS – “The design follows the direction and modules of crop lines that are created by the machinery used to farm he land. The house is organized between two linear volumes, one wet and the other one dry. The wet zone contains bathrooms, kitchen, laundry and utilities and the dry one contains living, dining, study and bedrooms”.
