It’s almost too perfect – the Suntro House by Jorge Hernandez de la Garza is a pristine place of relaxation and simplicity. There isn’t much to distract from the minimalist modern design: furnishings are uncomplicated, artwork is subtle, and vivid colors are restricted to thoughtfully placed accents.

We think that concrete floors are one of the most innovative white design solutions – concrete adds contrast, provides an opportunity to enrich the home with texture, and offers a nicely complementary canvas for white furniture. This house definitely takes advantage of these benefits, using the concrete as a way of breaking up the white furniture and matching walls without taking away from the monochromatic theme.

The beautiful white design of the Burano Condominiums Toronto can be credited to Munge Leunge Architects – the very same talented firm responsible for the breathtaking interior concepts of the Riverhouse at the Old Mill and North York’s Treviso II.

The exquisite modern design of the interior is inspired by the colorful island of Burano, Italy – palettes will be based on the island’s colorful homes, intricate latticework elements represent delicate Burano lace, and even the name conjures an instant image of the incredible island. Although decor elements are based on rich European tradition, the condominiums are still in the heart of Toronto with access to the city’s cultural capital.

The Burano Condominiums Toronto is scheduled for completion sometime in 2012; we can’t wait to see the finished product!

The Jorgen Anker Apartment is truly a breath of fresh air – the varied, natural white design is easy on the eyes, allowing the finer decorative features to sweep you away.

The real personality of this white apartment is expressed through patterns and interior design motifs for clear cohesion without looking cluttered. For example, the dining area is tucked away in an inconspicuous corner, yet the Campana Brothers Blow Up fruit bowls and vertical Wine Tubes from Canoe add visual interest through repetition.

Other details hint at subtle luxury: glittering gold and chocolate tiles in the bathroom, ornate vintage fireplace, and rich fabrics (thick pile, silks, wool) – simple, but elegant.

In this photographic tour of the incredibly unique Bilt House, you will see the life of an artist and collector laid out before you in a story woven by objects against a backdrop of dramatic white design.

Custom furniture is built to fit in the odd nooks and crannies of this pyramidal home – and while the furnishings themselves exhibit tasteful minimalism, the surfaces act as intimate gathering places for the resident’s favorite ornaments and sentimental pieces. Framed art is so abundant that floods walls with a riot of color and sprouts up from the tops of desktops and tables.

The Grace Santorini Hotel looks like one of those hotels that you never want to leave! A partnership between Divercity Architects and mplusm Architects resulted in this fabulously unique vacation retreat – terraces are carved into the side of a 300-meter-high volcano, providing an extreme cliff-face panoramic view of the expansive sea and islands.

The contextual modern design of the interior compliments the outstanding outside view – living areas are colorful and diverse, featuring furniture and lights by prominent (but not overused) designers like Gervasoni and Brand van Egmond, and more well-known names like Vitra are given plenty of attention as well.

Color, pattern, water, rock, and white design have never worked together so beautifully as they do in the outstanding Grace Santorini Hotel.

Dan Brunn Architecture truly worked magic with this spectacular renovation. The Hayvenhurst House was once dark and somewhat crowded – a white design makeover that included the removal of the restrictive interior walls really brought the home to its full potential.

The open living space is uncluttered and airy – only a richly textured fireplace separates the entertainment area (centered around a fab Offi Scando coffee table) from the simple dining table. The kitchen is an integral part of this area, defined by a sleek cabinet stretching the entire length of the living open room.

Doesn’t this residence give you an instant mood lift? Designed for a young family of four, the Emmental Stairs Apartment has such a playful atmosphere that it’s impossible to resist cracking a smile.

Eva Katona and Peter Szigeti designed this vivacious White Apartment with the residents’ love for refurbishing unique furniture in mind, utilizing clean white design to serve as the perfect backdrop for the colorful and eclectic collection of retro dining chairs, characteristic fixtures, and fun decorative touches.

The prominent staircase, envisioned and created by Biljana Jovanovik, also serves as a striking but airy room divider – defining the boundary between living area and dining room while allowing the residents to keep an unwavering eye on their two small children. Although the staggered risers appear to be somewhat precarious, the captivating modern design is just one of a kind.

The Emmental Refurbished Apartment is as lively as it is fascinating – we would have no problem getting comfortable in this home (until it comes time to climb those compact stairs)!
