The Boat Bread Basket

The Boat Bread Basket

by LWW on July 17, 2013

The bone china Boat Bread Basket by Reiko Kaneko is uniquely functional, equipped with a charming rope handle that contrasts nicely with the glossy multifaceted surface. Each bone china bowl is handmade down to the last detail – even the rope was hand-spliced by the production team in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

As a prototype, the factory workers noted the Viking ship shape and the naval theme took off from there. We appreciate how the crisp lines create a drama of shadows, how the fine form seems strong and light like folded paper. Any white interior could benefit from the natural or black rope, while the red and blue option would make the perfect accent to a naval theme.

The Boat Bread Basket could hold flower blossoms or fruit, muffins or treasured jewelry. Let us know where this little vessel takes your imagination!
