The site for the Cerise Residence renovation proved to be the perfect subject for the distinctive hand of FMD Architects. Despite starting with a relatively small footprint and no desire to infringe on outdoor space, FMD took advantage of upward expansion to provide a fresh, open floor plan for the residents to enjoy.
This upward push seems to have inspired the notable sense of movement created by angles, objects, and shapes that affect how each space interacts with the rest of the home. We love how the dark staircase is illuminated by a multi-angled mirror that provides a variable, capricious view of vibrant plum carpet or eclectic artwork depending on position.
The clean white interior leaves plenty of room for characteristic expressions, like bold art prints adorning the walls of the dining area and the geometric green cabinetry in the bathroom.
Every visual twist and turn of The Cerise Residence is truly worth a look for any fan of wild modern design.
