Edwards Moore created what is known as the Cubby House as an intensive renovation and expansion of an existing apartment in Fitzroy, Melbourne. Flowing contemporary space is created by stripping away unnecessary walls, based on a style called “Raumplan” developed by architect Adolf Loos.
Reclaimed materials and distinctive textures give this white modern interior an exciting flair; reflective views maximize natural lighting and outdoor views. A neutral palette brings out the best of the elegant gold accents, consistent throughout the sprawling public areas. A mixture of simple and fun furniture creates groupings for intimate conversations – keeping the spacious white interior from seeming intimidating.
The Cubby House is a unique work of art: elegant, masculine, and full of fun architectural quirks.
